About Doug Wood
Specialist in Steinway Piano Service
​
Doug Wood has been servicing fine pianos for over 35 years.
​
He completed technical seminars taught by Franz Mohr, personal technician to Vladimir Horowitz, and others at the Steinway factory in New York City in 1992.
​
He has rebuilt or regulated over 500 pianos in his career. He has serviced pianos for the Seattle Symphony, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and many Steinway concert artists.
​
Doug is currently in charge of the instruments for the University of Washington’s prestigious President’s Piano Series at Meany Hall.
​
Doug was the head of concert service for Steinway Pianos at Sherman Clay Pianos, in Seattle, for twenty years.
Doug has been the piano technician for all of the Nordstrom stores’ Steinway pianos in the Northwest since 1982.
​
Doug is a licensed Stanwood Precision TouchDesign™installer.
​
Doug has a Master of Science degree from the University of Washington, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan.
